Bally Total Fitness -- Scammers
Here is a recent Bally Total Fitness complaint from Tina
I would like to take a little time to let you know that I have had the worst
experience with Ballys. First off when I signed up for my membership
over a year ago, I was quoted the wrong amount, so I was over charged by
the company from the beginning. I filed complaints about this at the time,
only to run into brick walls. Then after my 1 year membership, I was again
charged the wrong amount for my month to month membership
My husband called up to complain, and was told that they did not keep copies
of our membership agreements at the customer service location and that
we'd have to wait a few days for the contract to be sent to them before we
could discuss changing the price. This was too much, so we canceled our
account on 3/2/06. Only to find out that they charged us again on 3/29,
after our account had been closed. I called up and talked to a very nice
customer service rep. Celest (@ 866-402-2559..she was very nice when i was
in a bad mood and she should be rewarded for dealing with me and all my
aggression toward the company). And she worked to refund the charge.
However it seems wrong that Ballys can up prices, and charge way more then
contracts say. It seems that by filling out the auto pay slip I have given
them free access to my checking account, and in turn they robbed me. I will
never use Ballys again. And will discourage my friends and family from
doing the same.
